The 7th Annual Meeting of the Forests and Livelihoods: Assessment, Research, and Engagement (FLARE) Network was held virtually in partnership with the Global Landscapes Forum, November 5-6, 2021.
The meeting continued to showcase presentations around a variety of key topics in the field, and also offered a pointed opportunity to share and discuss our successes and failures in research and in practice.

FLARE 2021 Meeting Themes
This year’s meeting will include participant presentations and discussion around a set of themes, including the following:

“Forward with FLARE” – A panel and plenary discussion to identify ideas and priorities for FLARE in the coming years.
Instructions for Presenters
Presentations at FLARE this meeting will be in the form of short (3-minute) lightning talks. Each presentation should do the following:
- Briefly introduce yourself and how your interests relate to FLARE;
- Share results from recent research;
- Conclude with 1-2 policy/practice implications and 1-2 follow up questions for research
Three minutes goes fast, so please practice to ensure your content can be delivered in that time. You can share slides via the presentation software. It is suggested to have 3-5 slides only.
The lightning talk format will allow a larger number of people to present and create the opportunity for follow up discussion.
