Description: Community forest management has been promoted for decades as a way to merge environmental conservation with economic development and natural resource rights agendas. Yet, many of these initiatives have also led to substantial socioeconomic and environmental trade-offs. This global dataset provides a comprehensive global assessment of environmental, income, and natural resource rights outcomes of community forest management, using data from 643 cases in 51 countries. The dataset also contains information on key socioeconomic, political, and biophysical contextual factors. The dataset is based on a systematic review and analysis of 267 studies published between 1991 and 2014.
