The FLARE network will meet in person October 7-10, 2022 for the first time since 2019. The 2022 FLARE Annual Meeting, hosted by the Keough School of Global Affairs, will take place in Rome at the Auditorium Antonianum and the University of Notre Dame Rome Global Gateway. The Meeting will showcase the latest research and thinking at the intersection of forests and livelihoods and includes a special emphasis on the theme “Forests and Livelihoods in a New Era of International Commitments: The Promise and Challenge of Implementation.” The Annual Meeting will also feature research and discussion on a number of timely issues relating to forests and livelihoods, including climate change adaptation, biodiversity conservation, bio-economy and innovation, social justice, religion and spirituality, and the COVID-19 pandemic. With over 175 presenters and 250 participants from around the world scheduled to attend, this year’s gathering promises to be FLARE’s largest meeting to date. The Annual Meeting will connect and engage a diverse audience through a plenary roundtable discussion of the conference theme, a keynote address by Professor Nancy Peluso, and a mixer for students and early career professionals, and other interactive sessions. The conference will be held in person, but the plenary roundtable discussion and keynote address will be live streamed here https://go.nd.edu/flare22rome]
